Activities

As well as offering a first-rate academic education, we offer a wide range of extra- curricular activities. All pupils are encouraged to make the most of the many opportunities open to them, to try out different activities and discover their true interests and abilities.

The links below give further details of some of the major opportunities that pupils can enjoy.

In addition, there are many other clubs and societies that are available to pupils. These vary from term to term, but range from Model United Nations to Wargaming, Table Tennis to Christian Union, and Science Club to Badminton.

Quick facts

The main sports are rugby, hockey, cricket and athletics for boys, and hockey, netball, rounders and athletics for girls.

Musical pupils can choose from two orchestras, wind band, jazz band, four choirs, and many smaller groups.

The RGS Summer Festival is a two-week celebration of the arts with plays, concerts and exhibitions.

All pupils in Year 9 and above can join either the Combined Cadet Force or the Duke of Edinburgh Award (and most do).

Amongst our many charitable activities, we have raised over £70,000 over the last 20 years for the Childrens' Trust.
