Students get a taste
of the future
Over 50 professions gathered under one roof
as Reigate Grammar School students got a taste for their
own futures at the school’s sixth annual careers convention.
Over 200 students attended the event which aimed to give
students an insight into a broad range of careers and give
them the opportunity to talk face to face with those working
across different fields.
Commented Matthew Buzzacott, Head of Careers: “This
event is great for inspiring students and giving them an
idea of what they are ultimately working towards. Having
everyone under one roof gives students the opportunity to
talk to people who each have a very different experience
of working life.“
He added: “Young people today have to make decisions
about their careers early on and there is no replacement
for thorough research when making such lifelong decisions.
The convention is also excellent for widening our students’ ideas
of what they might do and ensuring that they talk to people
who do jobs that they might not have already considered.
The more advice students seek and receive the more informed
and confident their choice will be.
