School Run Raises Funds
Second and Third Form students put
on their running shoes to take part
in an annual run in aid of
The Children’s
Trust.
The 250 boys and girls from the school commenced their five
mile run from Reigate Hill and finished at Tadworth Cricket
Club,
New Road, Tadworth, where the Mayor of Reigate & Banstead,
Councillor Roger Newstead, was waiting to greet them. The
first boy and girl across the finishing line were Daniel
Thorpe (14) and Laura Gent (14) who completed the run in
27 and 30 minutes respectively.
Lisa Tingley, Community Fundraising Manager at The Children’s
Trust said: “We would like to congratulate all the
students who took part in the run and thank everyone at
Reigate Grammar School for their wonderful support for
the Trust over the years, which is greatly appreciated.”
This year’s charity run is expected to raise over £3,000
for The Children’s Trust, a national charity, which
provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple
disabilities and complex health needs. Reigate Grammar School
has supported the Trust since 1983 and during that time has
raised nearly £100,000.
