RGS students amongst top in the country

RGS student Philippa Dinnage is celebrating after being recognized as one of the UK's top ten students for Government and Politics at A Level. Following A Level results released in August, Philippa was notified by exam board Edexcel of her top placing. Philippa achieved one of the highest overall marks out of 3,076 UK candidates who took the Government and Politics exam. RGS student Nick Elias also achieved full marks in his A2 Art and Design exam.

Commented Philippa: “It was a wonderful surprise to find out that I’d scored such a high mark. I knew that I had an A* from the details given out on results day but this was an added and unexpected bonus. When you are preparing for and taking exams you just concentrate hard on your own work and doing the best you can so it’s quite strange to take a step back and know exactly how you faired compared to the rest of the country!”

Following the completion of her A Levels at Reigate Grammar School, Philippa is now beginning the next stage of her education, reading History at Homerton College, Cambridge.
