Support RGS

We encourage Reigatians to support the school in a variety of ways.

  • Network OR
Under this scheme Reigatians are able to offer advice and information about their career/profession to help students and younger Old Reigatians with their career choices. The Network will continue to expand to offer networking opportunities for a wide range of Old Reigatians and parents. You will find more information here

  • Careers
We value the help given by Reigatians who attend Careers Conventions, help with interview practice and give talks to Sixth Formers. Some Reigatians are able to provide work experience opportunities. If you would like to discuss helping in this way please contact us.

  • Financial support
Whether a single donation, a legacy or regular gifts, your help will enable us to develop the school’s facilities, further enhance the educational opportunities that the school offers and broaden access to the school by providing more scholarships and bursaries to those whose parents may not be able to afford the fees. Financial support for the school is channelled through the RGS Foundation.

The RGS Foundation

Unlike most schools that date from the same period, Reigate Grammar School has no endowments and has not received additional land or investments to provide extra funding. With your help, the Foundation aims to:

  • enable the school to accept suitable students on a ‘needs blind’ basis by providing bursaries for students whose parents could not otherwise afford a place

  • provide funds for future building and development of facilities

  • support the school’s Development Plan.

The RGS Foundation operates as a distinct part of the school charity (Registered Charity number 1081898).

Ways to give

  • Single or regular donations
Your gift is invaluable to RGS. If you are considering making more than one gift over time we would encourage you to use a standing order as it is more convenient for you and reduces our administrative costs. Please click here for a standing order form (opens as a PDF in a separate window).

  • Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer, both single and regular donations can be made under the Gift Aid Scheme. This enables the school to reclaim from the Government the basic rate of tax on the gift which will have already been paid by you. This currently means your gift is worth an extra 28p for every £1 donated, at no cost to you. There are extra benefits for higher tax payers. Please contact us for more information or consult your financial adviser. To use the Gift Aid scheme, all you need to do is complete a simple form which you can find here.

  • Leaving a legacy
After you have provided for the needs of your family, a legacy gift to Reigate Grammar School enables you to leave something permanent behind which can give lasting benefit to many children. You may be able to provide more than you might have been able to during your lifetime and you could save Inheritance Tax. For more information about leaving a legacy to your school, please click here. For more information about making your Will please click here.

We are most grateful for donors who make a provision for the school in their Will and hope that you will tell us if you plan to make a bequest, so that we may thank you for your support. The school has inaugurated The 1675 Society whose members are people who have told us that they have left the school a legacy. The Head will host an annual lunch for members of the society. You can use the Pledge Form here to let us know. We will, of course, respect your wish if you prefer to keep this a private matter. If you would like more information about legacy giving, please contact us.

  • Other ways to give
If you are living overseas or you would like information on other ways you can give in the UK (for example Give as you Earn, company matched giving, gifts of shares or property and corporate giving) please contact us.
