Coach service

The school organises coaches to bring pupils in to school and to take them home again in the afternoon.

All coaches are scheduled to arrive by 8.25am, and after school start the return journeys at 4.05pm from the Hartswood sports ground. They then travel to the school’s Dining Hall (PMH) car park to pick up the majority of the passengers. There are twelve coach routes going to and from the following places:

Late Coach Routes

Reigate & Redhill Station shuttle services
The Reigate shuttle service takes students arriving by train into Reigate train station to
Reigate Grammar School in the mornings. It will help students who carry bags and instruments
and get students to school in time for registration. The cost of this service is £1.00 per day.
Trains running direct into Reigate include Guildford, Dorking, East Croydon, Purley, Coulsdon
South and Merstham. Almost all trains arrive into Reigate at just before 08:30.

The Oxted coach service can collect students arriving by train at Redhill train station to Reigate Grammar School in the mornings. The cost of this service is £1.00 per day.

Coach tickets
To book onto the RGS Coach service please email hrs@reigategrammar.org Tickets may be purchased for termly use to include morning and afternoon journeys and use of the late coach service. Occasional tickets may also be purchased for ‘one-off’ coach journeys via the Porters Desk. Coach Route charges for 2023.

Late coaches
To ensure that those students staying to extra-curricular activities have a convenient and safe passage home, five late coaches run from Monday to Thursday inclusive. The late coaches travel North, North-West, South, East and West. Late buses are free for those students holding a termly ticket and are priced at the occasional ticket rate for coach zones 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Students are required to sign up for the service by 2:00pm on the day/s they wish to use the late coach by notifying the Porters. (The Porters’ desk is situated inside the main entrance).

Please note that the coach routes can be adapted slightly from year to year as we work hard to accommodate our students and there is a Code of Conduct for all coach users.
