CCF Tri-Section Summer Camp a great week enjoyed by all cadets!

Cadets from all three sections attended St Martin’s Plain Camp in Hythe near Folkestone. The RAF Section went to RAF Benson for Air Experience Flights in the Grob Tutor while the other cadets enjoyed an ‘Urban Village’ blank firing exercise. There was also a brilliant computer generated firing range testing the cadets’ marksmanship skills! The camp offered a tough assault course that the cadets valiantly got to grips with and which was the highlight of the week for many.

The contingent enjoyed a fantastic day of water based activities and climbing at a nearby Army camp. There was dinghy sailing, kayaking and raft building. It was a great exercise in team building and design culminating in hilarious and hard fought races. A challenging climbing tower provided a diversion away from the waterborne fun.

The programme of activities included survival skills, orienteering and field craft leading to an overnight exercise sleeping on the forest floor under the protective cover of our own bashers. I am relieved it didn’t rain that night! All in all, a great week enjoyed by all cadets!
