RGS Music Orchestral Concert
At last week’s Orchestral Concert at the Harlequin Theatre, Redhill, well over 100 students gave an evening of musical entertainment in a concert which mixed up students from all year groups in a variety of orchestras and bands.
Students played with rhythmic zest and melodic finesse as they delivered the atmospheric highs and lows of famous film music, Sibelius Finlandia and other memorable dance-like themes.
A new group showed their improvising skill in Latin jazz with Nick I, Milo S, Estuardo D A and Ben S amongst the most promising all-round solo boys. Exquisite virtuoso solos from Isabel A, Gabriele B and Yasmin H and a guest conductor appearance from Madeleine W leading Concert Band 2 balanced up the contribution from the girls.
