Katherine – Straight A*’s in STEM
Did anyone dare suggest that girls can’t do science? Katherine, a keen scientist, achieved straight A*s in her A Level results in STEM subjects, Maths, Physics and Chemistry and is off to study Chemistry at Oxford University. Katherine has been an enthusiastic member of one of RGS’s largest co-curricular programme ‘Thank Science It’s Friday’ – a seminar and lecture series which supplement science lessons. It is here that she shared her experience of being diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the beginning of her A Level studies with her fellow students. Katherine said
“I’d like to thank all of my teachers – I couldn’t have done it without them – they have been so supportive.”
RGS are so proud of Katherine’s achievements and her contributions to STEM subjects at RGS. We do hope that her results will inspire many other girls to pursue STEM subjects and careers.
