Sloane Square Polyphony Evensong
Last Sunday Polyphony and the RGS Godfrey Searle choir put on a wonderful evensong in Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square London. It was exciting to be in central London, singing in a stunning building with cathedral like proportions and acoustics. The service was a huge success and there were many compliments from the clergy and the resident musical director, who strongly encouraged a repeat visit next year.
Most recently joined tenors and basses in Polyphony are ex-choristers themselves and it was an opportunity for parents who had known a former time of listening to many evensongs together, to enjoy the experience again – seeing their sons coming back to sing as they had previously loved to do.
Describing the music in his address, the Minister questioned:
‘What Cathedral choir was that?’
Needless to say, they sounded fab!
