Junior House Debating

Cranston and Hodgson fought it out with words in the final of the Junior House Debating competition, where the motion was ‘Religion has no place in schools in any form’. Alex K of First Form made a strong opening speech for the motion, but the floor voted with Cranston (Asvin M, Nathaniel V and Sachin J from Second Form) who spoke against the motion, arguing for the benefits of tolerance being encouraged by religious education in schools.

Cranston were also judged to be the winners of the Debate, whilst Alex K from Hodgson was awarded Speaker of the Debate.

Well done to all of the speakers and the floor who asked challenging questions.
