TCS Oxford Computing Challenge
Last week 30 students from RGS participated in the TCS Oxford Computing Challenge run by TCS and Oxford University. This invitational online event aims to encourage students who have achieved a top 10% score in the UK Bebras Challenge (held in November 2017) to develop their skills further and produce programmed solutions to computational thinking problems.
The competition is split into four categories by age: Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Elite. At RGS:
- Seven students competed in the Junior category (Surrey county – 86, nationally – 1784) Congratulations to Anush U who achieved the highest mark in his category and Surrey County.
- 13 students competed in the Intermediate category (Surrey county – 146, nationally – 2611) Congratulations to Douglas Y who achieved the highest mark in his category and Surrey County. Douglas has also qualified for the final of the TCS Oxford Computing Challenge which takes place next month. Well done Douglas!
- Nine students competed in the Senior category (Surrey county – 20, nationally – 692) Congratulations to Jack R and Daniel F who achieved the highest marks in their category.
- Two students competed in the Elite category (Surrey county – 26, nationally 256) Congratulations to Barnaby C who achieved the highest marks in his category and Surrey county.
