Life-changing opportunities deliver top class results
RGS’s 1675 Bursary Fund seeks to change the lives of talented children who could not otherwise afford to study at RGS. GCSE students Prutha V, Lauren MFK and Daniel F are all fortunate recipients of the 1675 Bursary Fund which has certainly changed their lives. Between them, the students achieved the equivalent of eleven 9 grades (better than A*), eighteen 8 (A*) grades and three 7 (A) grades. A superb accomplishment.
Prutha’s family were over the moon and grateful to RGS for providing her with such a wonderful opportunity. As well as her studies, she has loved taking part in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and going on school trips. She said,
Thank you to my sponsor for giving me the chance to study at RGS.
Daniel said,
When I joined RGS I had never played rugby. It has been a real highlight for me to learn the game, take part in matches (I play Prop) and have the opportunity to go on tour to both France and South Africa this year. I have also been given the chance to develop my musical skills; I play guitar (modern rock) and have also taken up the piano.
In addition, Daniel has built his own computer and would like a career in this field.
Lauren is looking forward to studying Drama, Art, Maths and Psychology at A Level. She said,
Drama is my favourite subject and I hope to have a career in this area or perhaps in Psychology, which I also really enjoy.
Her mum was delighted with Lauren’s results. She said, “A huge thank you to RGS and Lauren’s sponsors for their support. Maybe one day Lauren may be able to give back and do the same for others by setting up the ‘Lauren Bursary’.”
