Sixth Form Geography Field Trip

 

On Thursday the Lower Sixth Form geographers undertook an infiltration investigation on the slopes of Boxhill before moving to Gatwick to study flood defences and water management. A guided talk by Ian Waghorn, Chief Water Engineer, highlighted a number of issues relating to water management. Demonstrations of the Archimedes screws, chemical analysis and pollution control measures ended with amazing views at the end of the runway as an A380 took off.
