Southern Schools Invitational (Golf)

The Southern Schools Invitational, run by Reigate Heath GC, attracts entries from some of the top schools in both the state and private sector. Forty students representing seventeen schools were at Reigate Heath to compete in this, the third running of the competition.

Oliver K from RGS was the defending champion in the boys’ event and with three holes to go looked odds-on favourite to repeat last year’s success. However, one poor shot and a three putt on the final green meant that he lost the title by only a single shot, finishing runner-up.

In the girls’ event, Gordon’s School were very strong but the RGS pair of Charlotte and Chloe B, playing on their own course, kept the pressure on. The power of Charlotte and the accuracy of Chloe meant that they finished runners up in the team event.
