England Hockey National Competition

Wednesday was a big day for RGS Hockey with both the 1stXI and U16 girls’ teams taking on old rivals for a place in the south Finals of the England Hockey competition.

The 1st team brought home an emphatic victory winning 7-1 against Bradfield at Hartswood in what proved to be a great display of skill that was fast paced and creative. This victory takes them through to the last 16 and a place in the south Final on Wednesday 28 November at Charterhouse School.

The U16s played a strong Wellington side in a nail-biting end-to-end battle. RGS came away victorious with a 1-0 win, taking them through to the last 16 and south Finals on Wednesday 5 December at Charterhouse School.

ISHC

The U13s are progressing through the Independent Schools’ Hockey Cup (ISHC), the National title which RGS currently holds. On Tuesday they travelled to Maidstone to a very cold Sutton Valence School where despite a nervous start,  they came away with a 12-1 win in a convincing show of talent. They are now into the last eight of this competition.
