RGS Swimming to Success

On Thursday 17 January the U12 and U13 Swimming teams travelled to Whitgift for the annual Trinity Group Gala. There were many tight races and RGS students swam with determination and speed. Congratulations to our U12 girls (Gabi H, Emily W, Lauren A, Bronwen R and Ines M) and our U13 girls (Antonia H, Amelie H, Ellie H, Isobel R and Emily B) on securing a convincing win, and our U12 boys (Noah D-T, Daniel D, Keiron A, Seb H and Jack B) and our U13 boys (Ali N, Lukas K, Harry O’D, Kishan P and Austin B) on coming runners up.

Following on from this success team Reigate travelled to the Guildford Spectrum last Saturday to compete in the Surrey Schools’ Individual Swimming Championships. The girls competed in the afternoon with many PB’s achieved throughout. Special congratulations go to Daisy G (100m backstroke), Ruby J (100m freestyle) and Issy H (200m IM) for all achieving silver medals. In the evening it was the boys’ turn with another strong RGS turnout. Gold medals were won by Toby S (100m backstroke) and Ali N (100m butterfly) and a silver medal went to Noah D-T (100m breaststroke). At the end of the evening we were delighted when our U13 boys’ team were announced as the Junior Boys Overall Individual Surrey Champions.

Congratulation should also go to the 21 students who have qualified for the British Schools’ Biathlon Finals in March at Crystal Palace: Theo E, Tomos K, Jemima P, James C, Robbi H, Issy H, Clara A, Lauren D, Lily F-J, Sara M, Morgan C, Lukas K, Elis K, Eva M, Gusie L, Keiron A, Gabi H, Ellie H, Noah D-T, Charlie D & Lauren A.
