The Easter holidays found RGS students in Dublin attending the St Andrew’s International Model United Nations conference. George B performed admirably as President of the Security Council while Louis C took up the post of Judge on the International Court of Justice presiding over the case of Australia versus Nauru. All our delegates (Sarah T, Abbie B, Conor F, Ethan B, Thomas C and George C) represented the delegation of Peru with poise and expertise. Thomas even came away with the most prestigious award of distinguished delegate on his committee!

Junior ReiMUN

It was a busy Saturday in the Harrison Centre as RGS hosted the fourth annual Junior ReiMUN conference on 27 April. Visiting schools across the southeast brought delegates from such countries as Belgium, China and Equatorial Guinea. Aimed at beginner level, the conference offered workshops on procedure and chairing, as well as writing resolutions for debate. We were delighted by the help provided by our seasoned senior MUN team – Louis C, Abbie B, Ethan B, Tom C, Cici X, Krishne T and Piya P. The full day completed by a General Assembly debate which indicated much confidence had been gained throughout the day.

Kaylen P said about his first MUN conference:

“It was an amazing opportunity to meet MUN delegates from other schools and have the experience of being at a real MUN conference.”

Kaylen P

“The conference was a great way to develop my skills in MUN and was loads of fun.”
