RGS Drama named Best Play at Leatherhead Drama Festival
Reigate Grammar School’s production of Find Me has been named Best Play at the 2019 Leatherhead Festival. The show, which premiered at school in February, beat off competition from seventeen other schools to gain the prestigious award. It is the third time RGS Drama has triumphed in the last five years.
As winners, the cast put on a special performance of Find Me as part of the Awards Ceremony Gala Night. An adjudicator commented: “A number of audience members told me that they cried or at least shed a tear. That is testament to the power of the performance.”
As well as winning the Best Play award, Reigate Grammar’s Emelye KB was named Best Actress, and Miss Hare awarded Best Director, with special mentions for Oli S and Tom B.
Huge congratulations to the whole cast and crew of Find Me, who have worked incredibly hard to bring this brilliant play to life, as well as juggling their involvement in its continued succes with their other commitments.
