ESAA Track and Field Cup

RGS have once again entered teams in the English Schools’ Athletics Association Track and Field cup competition. The first round was held at Charterhouse School, Godalming.

This is a team competition in which athletes score points according to their performances. All the points from each athlete are added up and at the end of the afternoon a team will find out if they have won enough points to progress through to the next regional round in June.

The first round is always a little nerve racking as athletes in some cases try events that they may not competed in before. During the afternoon there were many great performances including Dottie B who jumped a PB of 1.38m in the High Jump.

The Junior (First and Second Forms) and Inter (Third and Fourth Forms) girls’ teams both made it through to the next round whilst the junior boys have to wait for the outcomes of other matches.
