May half-term found RGS students out in the wilds of England and Wales practising or completing sections of their personal DofE journeys.

Gold expeditions

50 students completed their Gold practice expedition, hiking in South Wales in the Brecon Beacons. Poor weather with low cloud and rain made for ideal navigation training conditions over the first days. The cloud then broke somewhat to give great views through the fog on the ridges. The students performed extremely well throughout.

Canoeing

A group of students completed their Gold practice canoe expedition, canoeing down the the River Wye from Glasbury and camping overnight at various spots on the banks.

Bronze Expedition

Groups completed their practice hike, backpacking around the North Downs and finishing up on Reigate Hill
