District Cross Country

The RGS girls’ and boys’ Cross Country teams have seen some excellent successes recently. Along with 14 other local schools, they competed in the District Cross Country event at Royal Alexandra and Albert School, with the top qualifiers going on to compete at the county event in January.

The course around Gatton Park was heavy going – it was muddy and had a very testing hill at the start. Our runners were gutsy and determined with some even managing a sprint into the finishing funnel, overtaking fellow competitors as they did to gain extra placings.

This was a brilliant performance by all with the following runners finishing in the top 10:

Sam A, Gusie L, Patrick B, Robbie H, Theo L, Ella H, Niamh M, Cara K-R, Abbie S, Anna M, Machayla D, Lucy B, Eva M, Issy H, Clara A and Steph S.

A special mention also goes to Lucy B who won the Inters race.
