This Week’s Choral Recital Proved to be a Varied and Engaging Evening
Choral Recital – Tuesday 3 March 2020
The annual Choral Recital is an opportunity for all RGS choirs to showcase their singing. This week’s concert proved to be a varied and engaging evening, involving over 80 students from all year groups. The short programme featured music from Disney to Benjamin Britten, pop to sacred pieces.
The recital opened with an elegant arrangement of the classic love song, The Rose (by Amanda McBroom), sensitively sung by the senior girls, quickly moving on to a robust performance from the increasingly popular Boys’ Choir.
Junior Girls’ Voices gave a charming rendition of ‘A Whole New World’ before the concert was brought to a close with a powerful performance of Balfour Gardiner’s ‘Evening Hymn’, featuring the combined forces of Polyphony and The RGS Godfrey Searle Choir.
