Artaca winners of Battle of the Bands, Horsham

Congratulations to ARTACA (Annis W, Oscar L-D and Omar A) on winning Horsham’s Battle of the Bands Final. This is the 28th annual event that celebrates bands who write original music. The only children entering the competition, they performed to a restricted audience and the show was steamed live on Facebook.

Competition was fierce and the bands were judged on originality, stage presence, content, musicianship, audience reaction and potential. ARTACA performed a 20 minute set featuring songs from their EP Invisible. They won by unanimous decision from the judges and at age 13, are the youngest entrants since 2007 and became the youngest ever winners.

Their prize includes a photo shoot, a recording studio session and a single release by the record label AWAL whose other artists include FINNEAS, The Kooks, Moby and Neneh Cherry. ARTACA’s EP is available to download on all major music providers including Spotify, iTunes and Amazon music.
