RGS shortlisted in AMCIS Independent Schools Awards
Reigate Grammar School is thrilled to have been shortlisted in two categories in the Admissions, Marketing and Communications in Independent Schools Awards (AMCIS). These awards recognise and celebrate campaigns that made a significant impact on a school and its community in 2020.
Shortlisted for the Partnership/Outreach Impact Award, the submission focused on the #RGSWeCare Campaign. The heart of this campaign concentrated on reaching out to vulnerable people in the community. Drive-through food banks were established, letters were written to the self-isolating people and prescriptions and shopping were delivered. Hundreds of RGS volunteers including our existing students were mobilised into action to raise thousands of pounds for charity
Also shortlisted for the Branding Impact Award, RGS concentrated on offering hope and guidance in the community. It wasn’t a time to promote exam results, it was a time to provide optimism and sustain people through remembering the good times.
Headmaster, Mr Shaun Fenton said,
“I was delighted with the way the whole school community created an unstoppable momentum during such difficult times. The community spirit and one of resilience were so evident. Looking back makes me continue to be incredibly proud to be a part of the Reigatian community. These awards genuinely represent who we are and more importantly, what we do.”
Mr Fenton added,
“One of the positive impacts of Covid was the establishment of the means-tested NHS bursaries which provided 100% free school places to children of lowly paid NHS workers. These have been established due to the generosity of hundreds of community donations. It is lovely to be shortlisted for awards and in this case, I believe them to be well deserved.”
The winners will be announced via a virtual awards ceremony in June.
