World Book Day 2022

Thursday 3rd of March kicked off in true World Book Day style with a costume competition! We were blown away with the creativity and effort that went into some of the costumes. Well done First and Second Form!

The winners of the Costume Competition are:

Third Place: Victoria H as Alice from Alice in Wonderland

Second Place: Jack L as a Dictionary

First Place: Ella S as Stanley Yelnats from Holes

First Place Staff Costume: Mrs Walker as Miss Trunchbull from Matilda

It was then wonderful to come together at lunchtime for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Students tucked into cake whilst doing some mindful colouring and swapping book suggestions. Over in the Library, Sixth Form students ran a RGS Book Exchange, with students taking home a new book in exchange for a book donated.

The winner of the Guess the Shelfie competition is yet to be announced. The board will be left up next week so that students have more time to enter the competition.

In other news…

To coincide with World Book Day, we held the First Form Spelling Bee final. This involved three rounds, with the first two being written, and the final being a head-to-head spoken round. All those who took part did incredibly well, and we are proud to announce the following winners:

Highly Commended: Shivali V, Noah W, James R
Third Place: John W

Second Place: Sam G

First Place: Ashwin S
