Mission Accomplished!

After a 2-year hiatus in taking junior cricketers to Jersey, an RGS tradition dating back to 1980, 24 U13 boys spent half of their half-term break touring the beautiful Channel Island. Reigate’s U13 squad of boys set out with a mission to regain the RGS-Victoria College trophy and retain the RGS-De La Salle trophy amongst participating in a total of eight matches against clubs, schools and the Jersey Island XI.

Not only did the boys succeed on the field, winning all eight matches, including some excellent team and individual appearances, but they also spent time at the beach and water park, watched the champions’ league final, visited St Helier, enjoyed excellent food, took part in the tour quiz, and most importantly perhaps, grew friendships and team spirit.

Girls Cricket Event

We would like to welcome you all to Hartswood on Monday 27 June to watch the Girls 1st XI cricket fixture vs. the MCC Women’s XI, at 5:30pm. As part of our continued efforts to promote Women’s and Girls Cricket at school we have teamed up with the Surrey Cricket Foundation (SCF), who work in conjunction with Surrey County Cricket Club, to develop a cricket festival on the day starting at 16:00.

 The event will:

  • Include an outreach session from 16:00 lead by the SCF coaches to 10-year-old pupils from the local area on the main outfield at Hartswood. These coaches will be supported by many of the cricket leaders within the pupil body at RGS.
  • RGS 1st XI Girls vs. MCC Womens XI at 17:30 in the new 100 format with music and a festival atmosphere
  • BBQ and refreshments into the evening
  • Presentation of playing caps to the Girls 1st XI

Please do come along.
