A Level Results 2022 – Best Exam Results in the School’s History

Following record breaking outcomes last year, Reigate Grammar School students have achieved the best exam results in the school’s history, resulting in a record year for offers to selective and world class universities.

  • 47% of grades were A* and 4 out of 5 grades were either A or A*
  • Students achieved 94% A*-B grades
  • The typical grade profile is A*AA
  • 96% of A Level students received Russell Group, Top Universities, Oxbridge or medical school offers
  • Impeccable BTEC results (100% receiving the top grade: Starred Distinction) demonstrating the diversity of the school’s new curriculum.

About this year’s Upper Sixth students, Headmaster Shaun Fenton says,

“Charity work, environmental projects, social justice initiatives, local community projects, DofE Gold, and more and now record-breaking results – what fabulous young people. Well-educated, not just well-qualified.

They now head off to world class universities. In recent years we have been more successful than ever in securing places at Oxford, Cambridge, medical schools, top 10 ranked universities, and on elite Russell Group courses. These students are setting out on life-changing opportunities with some of the very best results in the country.

The results are testament to our talented students, dedicated teachers and supportive parents: it takes a community to produce such success stories”.

As ever, the RGS community has achieved and learned a vast amount beyond the classroom, whether on the stage locally or in the West End; on our sports fields or in international competitions (including the Commonwealth Games); in concert halls in central London, Surrey and on tour; as cadets from frigates to Sandhurst; with record numbers heading to Buckingham Palace to receive Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards; as fundraisers; in environmental projects; as charity volunteers; MUN debaters… and so much more.

During their time in the RGS Sixth Form, these fine young adults have grown and developed enormously. They have made a home of the exceptional facilities within the Harrison Centre and have explored new academic interests via their Extended Project Qualifications. They have also shown themselves to be compassionate members of the wider community, leaders within their school, passionate and talented sportspeople, actors, singers, artists, linguists, cadets and debaters.

As this group of super young people heads off, we wish them the best of everything life can offer, we hope that they go well, do great things and return to visit us often. They will always be Reigatians.
