Celebrating Poetry By Heart at RGS
As spring begins to bloom, members of the Reigatian community have come together to bring ‘Daffodils’ by William Wordsworth to life, celebrating the beauty of poetry and performance through ‘Poetry by Heart’.
‘Daffodils’ is one of Wordsworth’s most famous poems, describing a glorious scene of daffodils “fluttering and dancing in the breeze” beside a lake. Its smooth rhythm and pleasing rhyme reflect the beauty and joy of nature.
‘Poetry by Heart’ is a national poetry speaking competition for schools and colleges in England, encouraging young people to explore, learn, and recite poetry aloud — building confidence and fostering a lifelong love of verse.
