We believe in our young people so that they can achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Our innovative and flexible curriculum provides a greater breadth of study, enables children to reach a higher standard and offers multiple ways for them to succeed.
Our curriculum extends beyond merely the academic and is designed to develop independent thinking and creativity, preparing RGS students for a happy and successful personal and professional adult life.
Based on a learning framework devised from studying the latest research on education, our curriculum is diverse in its content and more importantly in its delivery. Our teachers understand that our students learn in many different ways, that one size does not fit all, and they tailor their lessons to meet the needs of each and every child so that all children can achieve, succeed and feel good about themselves. Moreover, the staff at RGS understand that patience, empathy and understanding is vital to the education process.
The Lower School curriculum is designed to provide a broad and balanced knowledge base, but also to challenge and inspire. In addition to the full range of National Curriculum subjects, our students have the chance to study three modern foreign languages, French, German and Spanish, as well as Latin. All students in the Lower School have the opportunity to study a range of subjects such as DT, Drama, Music, Art, Food & Nutrition and Computing.
We firmly believe that the Lower School curriculum provides students with a strong skill-set and educational foundation which is essential not only for the next step into the Upper School, but for their life ahead.
