RGS Choral and Orchestral Concert
On the 15th March 2017, Reigate Grammar School’s Music department is putting on the largest choral and orchestral concert in its history at the historical St John’s Smith Square, London.
The RGS Music Department prides itself on excellence as well as opportunities for all, with a hugely diverse and ambitious musical programme. Choral music is a great strength of the school, from the unique Godfrey Searle Choir, to the popular RGS Singers and RGS Cantata, and the highly-polished Chamber Choir, Polyphony.
Jazz, Pop and world music styles are embraced by the department, and their influences will be on display in this concert. Bands and orchestras are thriving at the school, and will be heard in a range of repertoire, including Danzón No. 2 by contemporary composer Arturo Márquez.
In the second half of the programme, several school ensembles will combing to give a performance of the ever-inspiring Fauré Requiem.
Tickets are available via the SJSS Box Office.
