Commercial Music Night

A new American-themed evening of contemporary music, performed by students from First to Upper Sixth Forms, the Commercial Music Night took place on Friday 5 May to great audience acclaim.

The Recital Room was set up as a chill-out lounge and the audience of students, staff and parents enjoyed food and drink while they listened to the superb performances. There was a wide range of musical styles, from film music to jazz, via musicals and pop songs, and there were confident performances all round. It was a very enjoyable evening in the Recital Room in a relaxed atmosphere, with outstanding music-making and a very warm and appreciative audience.

The RGS Music staff are constantly impressed by students finding time to perform during the busy summer term and are grateful to parents who are always supportive of the events. Our next musical productions will be an Informal Concert for individuals on Tuesday 16 May, and the Summer Concert, mainly featuring ensembles on Monday 22 May.  We hope you will be able to join us.
