Charity Committee Update

It’s been a busy week for the charity committee as we continue to build on the successes of the first half term.

On Tuesday 12 November the committee hosted a tea party for Live at Home, a charity that supports those with dementia. It was wonderful to see members of the First and Third Forms host the event and special thanks must go to Meli G in the Fourth Form for baking and donating some extremely tasty shortbread. The event was a great success and very much appreciated by Live at Home and its members.

The end of the week saw the Headmaster and Dr Stones take up the mantle and become goalkeepers at lunchtime, raising almost 60 pounds for Children in Need. Both demonstrated extraordinary dexterity as they leapt through the air to maintain the integrity of their goals. Being dressed in Pudsey bear onesies was no obstacle for them, as they performed gravity defying saves, the likes of which Gordon Banks would have been proud.

Finally, it was mufti-day on Friday, and whilst the total amount raised has yet to be confirmed, it was great to see students get into the Children in Need spirit by wearing something red, yellow, spotted or stripey.

Thank you to everyone who made this week so successful.
