GCSE History trip to Berlin

Over sixty GCSE History students and their teachers enjoyed a three – day study visit to Berlin during the Easter holidays. The trip included a walking tour focused on the Nazi party involving sights such as the Reichstag building and Hitler’s bunker as well a visit to the 1936 Olympic Stadium and Sachsenhausen concentration camp. On the third day students visited the key sights of the Cold War, including a preserved section of the Berlin Wall, Check point Charlie and the Stasi prison.

In addition to seeing the sites there was time too for students to sample German food such as curry wurst, buy souvenirs and enjoy an evening’s bowling.
