Spanish Exchange

During the Easter holiday, Fourth Form students took part in this year’s intercambio escolar or school exchange to A Coruña in north-west Spain.

The sun shone for six days as we visited the beautiful cities of A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela. On day one, after a morning of lessons in Maristas school, we had chocolate y churros in the famous Bonilla Churrería and in the afternoon students went up La Torre de Hércules, the oldest working Roman lighthouse in the world and had lunch in the magnificent María Pita square in front of the ayuntamiento or town hall. Later we went bowling in the Corte Inglés shopping centre.

Students spent the evenings and weekends with their host families enjoying an incredible range of activities, practising Spanish and witnessing the many cultural differences between life in England and in Spain.
