Entry at 11+
For entry in September 2022
Boys and girls who will be 11 years old on 1 September of the year of proposed entry sit an entrance examination early in January of the same year. There will be three papers, one each in Mathematics, English and verbal & non-verbal Reasoning. Please note that for September 2022 entry, the sample papers below will be updated in spring/summer 2021. Currently, they apply only to those applying for September 2021 entry.

Early January 2022 – 11+ exam day
During the day, prospective pupils also have the opportunity to sample one of the many activities that are on offer. All candidates will automatically be considered for academic scholarships.
Mid-late January 2022 – interviews (2x Saturday mornings)
Candidates are interviewed by a member of staff and will be asked to talk about their hobbies and interests. Candidates will also have a group interview with the Headmaster.
Mid February 2022 – offers of places
Offers of places for 11+ entry will be sent to parents during February 2022, in line with other local independent schools. Parents will be asked to reply by early March 2022.
ENTRANCE EXAM GUIDANCE (for 2022 entry)
There will be three exams: Mathematics, English and a Reasoning test (verbal and non-verbal). Sample entrance examination papers for 2022 entry will be made available in the summer term of 2021. The samples currently on the website relate to 2021 entry only.

In advance of any entrance examination or interview, we will always ask each candidate’s current school for a written report. It is therefore important that parents inform their child’s current school that they have lodged an application with us.
