Keen to know more about Reigate Grammar School? Please visit our Open Events page to watch our new school film, explore our site via an interactive map, and to hear from our Headmaster, pupils, parents and staff as part of our Virtual Admissions Experience (June 2020). We are also offering you the opportunity to sign up to weekly Live Q&A events with the Headmaster, Admissions Registrar and Assistant Headteacher in charge of transition, throughout the summer.

Pupils are normally admitted to Reigate Grammar School at the ages of 11, 13 or 16, although vacancies may occasionally occur at other ages. New pupils normally enter the school in September.

  • The majority of our pupils enter at age 11 (Year 7). They will come from a mixture of local primary and preparatory schools. We usually take about 120 pupils at age 11.
  • A small number of pupils enter the school at age 13 (Year 9), usually from prep schools, or because they have moved into the area.
  • We also accept pupils into the Sixth Form (Year 12). There is no set number of places.

Parents may register a child at any time. There is a Registration Fee (non-returnable) of £100 for UK applications or £150 for Overseas applications which should be sent with the completed registration form. Acceptance of this fee does not guarantee the offer of a place.

If you have a query or simply would prefer to talk to someone about admissions please contact Mrs Philippa Watkins, Admissions Registrar (tel: 01737 222231, email admissions@reigategrammar.org) who will be very pleased to answer your questions and walk you through the process. Applying and settling in to senior school is a big step for a family and we aim to do all we can to make this a gentle and easy journey.
