Golf is available to all year groups at RGS.

We run two teams: The 1st VI which is open to anyone in the school who plays golf to the requisite standard and an U14 team. There are over 50 students involved with golf at RGS this year. Matches are played from September through to the October half term and then start again at the end of March and run through to the end of the summer term. All home games are played at Reigate Heath Golf Club, which has been our home ground for over thirty years. Newcomers to the game are welcomed to Reigate Heath as junior members if they are students at RGS.

We enter the Surrey Schools Championships, the Surrey Schools 12-24 Championships, The Smarden Bell ( a tournament open to the 8 biggest golf schools in the South East) and the HMC Schools National Foursomes, apart from playing our regular fixtures against other schools. The schools that we regularly play against some of the biggest golf schools in the South East, including Tonbridge, Epsom, Dulwich, KCS and Charterhouse. Last season the 1st VI reached the national finals of the HMC Schools Foursomes, by winning the SE England qualifying section. This put RGS in the top 8 schools in the country. In September this year the 1st V won the prestigious Smarden Bell.

Golf is run as an option for Senior Games afternoon. The students get professional coaching from the staff at Reigate Heath Golf Club and have the opportunity to play the course on a Wednesday afternoon. This is open to and is used by the elite players in the 1st team and those who are just starting out in the sport.

For March 2016 we intend to run a short golf tour over the Easter holiday. In 2015 we spent four days in South Wales playing matches against local clubs. This Easter we will be playing matches in the Dorset area against Parkstone, Broadstone, Ferdown and Brockenhurst Manor Golf Clubs.
