At Reigate Grammar School, the wellbeing of our pupils is at the very heart of school life.
We believe that a great education means more than just excellent academic results, it means creating a nurturing, supportive environment where every child feels known, valued, and understood. Our award-winning pastoral care programme is central to that mission. From the moment a child joins us, we focus on helping them grow not only in knowledge but also in confidence, compassion, and resilience.

The school genuinely puts pupils at the centre, with outstanding pastoral care.

Building Resilience & Fulfilment
Wellbeing is at the core of everything we do at RGS. We want to help students to find their own balance and fulfilment in our busy community. Wellbeing is about much more than happiness; it is about understanding how our bodies and minds work and then learning to look after ourselves through the natural ups and downs of life.
We actively encourage students to step outside their comfort zone, learning what happens when they have to fall back on their own resources. Sometimes they will get things right and sometimes they will get things wrong but always within our safe and secure environment, with experienced staff on hand to offer support and guidance.
Wellbeing Woven into School Life
Wellbeing is integrated into daily life at RGS through our thoughtful PSHEE curriculum, dedicated staff, and wide range of activities that nurture personal growth. Pupils learn about everything from emotional intelligence and self-care to financial literacy, digital safety and global citizenship.
Our Wellbeing Centre provides a calm, supportive space focused on positive mental health and neurodiversity, ensuring every student has the tools and guidance to thrive in their own way.
Consistent with its general ethos of tolerance and acceptance, inclusivity is in this school's DNA.

A Culture of Kindness and Respect
Events such as our Kindness Festival and Cultural Awareness Week bring the school community together and celebrate empathy, compassion, and inclusion. From Random Acts of Kindness to student-led cultural exhibitions, these events promote understanding and pride in the diverse backgrounds that enrich our school.
Pupils are keenly aware that they are experiencing a tolerant, kind, respectful, supportive environment, where both challenge and collaboration are encouraged and valued… Every child has someone they can talk to.
