Our enhanced Fee Assistance Programme brings together a number of initiatives to open the door to an RGS education for more families.

At Reigate Grammar School, we are committed to making our exceptional education accessible to talented children from all backgrounds. Our Fee Assistance Programme provides support to families who may need help with school fees, ensuring that financial circumstances never stand in the way of opportunity.

Whether you are applying for a full bursary or a small amount of support to help bridge the gap, our team is here to talk you through the process with warmth, care and complete confidentiality.

There are no limits to opportunity at RGS. We believe that every child deserves the chance to flourish.

Bursaries

Bursaries can offer up to 100% fee remission, plus help with uniform, meals, IT equipment and travel. These awards are means-tested, and based on both financial need and your child’s performance in our entrance assessments. Parents' income and assets will be reviewed annually in order to ensure that families continue to receive an appropriate level of support and all the information will be treated in the strictest confidence. The exact amount of fee reduction will depend upon family financial circumstances.

Bursaries provide vital financial assistance to individuals and families in need of support. Funding is drawn from both the School and the 1675 Bursary Fund, which invites the Reigatian Community to contribute to through our Changing Lives, Building Futures campaign. Through this initiative, we are able to offer transformational bursaries that create life-changing educational opportunities.

  • The 1675 Bursary Fund
Run by the RGS Foundation, this supports families who would not otherwise be able to access an independent education.
  • Gershon Scholars (16+)
Sixth Form bursaries for students wishing to pursue careers in STEM subjects, with additional mentoring and career guidance.

Who Can Apply?

Bursaries are available for children applying for 11+, 13+ and 16+ entry who demonstrate potential and would benefit from an RGS education. Awards are means-tested and based on an assessment of family income and assets.

While we do everything we can to help, bursary funds are limited, and not every eligible candidate can be offered a place. The earlier you register your interest, the more likely we will be able to help.

As a guideline, families with a total gross income above £140,000 are unlikely to qualify for bursary support, but please do get in touch to discuss your individual situation.

How to Apply

  • Tick the bursary box when completing your RGS application form.
  • You will be sent a separate bursary application form through your online admissions portal.
  • You will be asked to provide information about your income, assets and outgoings. In some cases, the Bursar may arrange a meeting or home visit.

All information is treated in strict confidence, and we are always happy to talk things through with you personally.

Bursary application deadlines can be found in our Key Dates section for each entry point. Please ensure forms are submitted on time so we can consider your application.
