Every student learns differently and in the Upper School, we build on the foundations of support and self-awareness developed in earlier years to ensure that every learner continues to thrive.
Our approach to Learning Support is built on understanding, flexibility and partnership. We recognise that neurodiversity is part of a thriving school community, and we work hard to make sure every student feels empowered, included, and respected.
Students may receive:
Championing Inclusive Learning and Community Awareness
Our experienced Learning Support team work alongside subject teachers and Form Tutors to ensure a joined-up, responsive approach. We also work with outside specialists, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists where needed.
We continue to offer exam access arrangements for those who qualify, helping to ensure that every student has the conditions they need to succeed.
We also educate the whole community. Staff take part in regular training and inset on inclusive teaching, and students take part in awareness events such as Neurodiversity Week, which helps create empathy, understanding and mutual respect.

Nurturing Independence and High Performance Learning
Learning Support in the Upper School is not about doing things for students, it is about helping them do things for themselves. We promote independence, self-awareness and self-advocacy so that by the time students move on to Sixth Form, they not only know how they learn best, but feel proud of that journey.
Personalised Strategies and Encouragement
Our work is closely aligned with the principles of High Performance Learning, which recognises that intelligence is not fixed, it can be taught and developed. Through personalised strategies and encouragement, we help every student regardless of need or background grow their confidence, independence and self-belief.
