Scholarships recognise those students with exceptional ability or potential in a specific area and seek to nurture this throughout their time at the school by delivering a programme of enrichment and mentoring.

Scholarships are available at 11+, 13+ and 16+ entry points, and reflect our belief in developing the whole child. From musicians and sportspeople to actors, artists and academic high-flyers, scholars are given additional support and opportunities to stretch their talents and lead by example within the wider school community.

Unlocking your full potential at RGS.

Types of Scholarships

Scholarship Awards & Support

The majority of scholarships either have no fee remission or are at a fixed amount (e.g. 5%). In exceptional circumstances a percentage reduction of fees may be given. Substantial fee reduction through scholarships is rare and is intended for candidates performing at an exceptionally high level, for example, national representative standard in the chosen sport. Scholarships may be held alongside bursaries where candidates qualify for additional fee support.

All scholars are mentored and supported throughout their time at RGS, helping them make the most of the opportunities available and grow in confidence and character.

How to Apply

To apply for a scholarship (excluding academic), simply indicate your interest when completing the RGS application form. You will then receive a separate scholarship application form closer to the exam date.

This form must include a reference from an independent referee (such as a music teacher, coach or drama tutor). Only applications that meet the criteria for each scholarship will be considered for assessment.

Academic scholarships are automatic and do not require a separate application.
