Cultural Diversity Week at RGS
Reigate Grammar School was filled with colour, music, food and joy as we celebrated Cultural Diversity Week.
On Tuesday 13 May, students and staff came to school wearing clothes that represented their heritage, traditional dress, national colours and cultural outfits worn with pride. It was a beautiful celebration of identity, belonging and the different stories that make up our school community.
The day began with breakfast in the Harrison Centre with the Headmaster, and at lunchtime the area outside came alive with stalls, music, games and food from around the world. Thank you to everyone who shared part of their culture with us – through dress, conversation or simply joining in.
Throughout the week, we celebrated culture in many different ways:
- World film screenings chosen by students
- Global Village stalls and video messages from around the world
- Acrostic poems written in House families
- Library displays celebrating diverse voices
- Creative flag designs from the Lower School
We also welcomed Asia Giuliani from the Global Routes Project, who is leading a series of talks and workshops this term, helping us to grow a culture of kindness, listening and ‘calling in’.
Cultural Diversity Week is always a highlight of the year — a moment to learn more about each other, share stories and celebrate what makes RGS so special.
Thank you to everyone who made it happen.
