We are delighted to announce that Jason Roy, England international cricketer, 2019 ODI World Cup winner, and Surrey first-class player has joined the RGS family of schools as a Cricket Consultant, working with the Sports Department and students in an advisory capacity.

Jason will collaborate closely with RGS sports staff to support the continued development of cricket across the RGS family of schools. His role will contribute to a growing programme of partnerships designed to give students insight into elite sport, professional pathways and the values required to perform at the highest level.
This appointment sits alongside RGS’s expanding network of sporting partnerships, including its established relationship with Chelsea FC, reflecting the commitment to providing inspiring, high-quality sporting opportunities as part of a broad and balanced education.
The partnership will benefit students across the RGS family of schools, including RGS Surrey Hills and the School’s junior schools - Reigate St Mary’s (RSM), Chinthurst School and Micklefield School - ensuring age-appropriate, inclusive opportunities that inspire a love of sport from the earliest years.
Jason’s involvement will include mentoring, Q&A sessions with students and time spent working alongside coaching staff, sharing his experience of professional sport while reinforcing the importance of resilience, teamwork and personal development.
The Headmaster of Reigate Grammar School said:
Jason’s appointment is an exciting step for RGS and our wider family of schools. He brings a thoughtful perspective on elite performance and preparation, but also a strong understanding of the role sport plays in developing character. This partnership aligns closely with our ethos of inspiring young people to aim high while enjoying the journey.
Director of Sport, George Browning, added:
We are delighted to be working with Jason. His experience and insight will enrich our sports provision and support our aim of delivering outstanding coaching and meaningful opportunities for students at all levels.
Jason Roy commented:
I grew up in Reigate and played cricket locally as a boy, so this partnership feels especially meaningful to me. I’m looking forward to supporting students and staff and sharing the experiences that shaped my own.
