Our Headmaster, Shaun Fenton, has been featured in Surrey Live, where he shares his reflections on what makes a school truly successful.

In the interview, he speaks about the importance of giving students the freedom to shape their own journey, and creating an environment where young people feel both supported and inspired.

As he explains:

“We need to build the school around each child.”

The article also highlights the breadth of opportunities available at Reigate Grammar School, from a wide range of languages to an evolving electives programme that includes subjects such as forensic science, meteorology and volunteering in the community.

Alongside academic success, the focus remains firmly on character, kindness and a strong sense of belonging, with the school described as a “big family, not a big school”.

Under his leadership, Reigate Grammar School has been recognised as The Sunday Times School of the Year and he has recently been shortlisted for Headteacher of the Year in both the TES Schools Awards and the Pearson National Teaching Awards.
